description The incident on the Nord Stream pipeline system at the bottom of the Baltic Sea in 2022 caused a significant release of natural gas into the atmosphere and made it impossible to transport gas further through three of the four pipelines. Before the pipeline system was inspected and the results of the technical commission were available, a preliminary assessment of the volume of natural gas released was carried out, the possible technical consequences of the incident were evaluated and a preliminary assessment of the possibility of carrying out repair and restoration work was carried out. The existing technical solutions and alternative technologies to restore the pipeline system integrity have been analyzed. The feasibility of applying the technologies taking into account the specific conditions of the Baltic Sea has been evaluated. A preliminary assessment of the scope of repair works has been carried out and repair technologies have been considered.
