The role of idiomatic expressions in learning L2/LS. Operational proposal for francophone learners of Italian
This article aims to analyze the acquisition of idiomatic expressions when learning Italian as a foreign or second language and hypothesizes a possible teaching activity that allows the examination of this acquisition process by French native speaker learners. In the first section, a detailed analysis of this kind of locution and its role in the global learning of a foreign or second language is performed. Afterward, the article examines a recent case study, the work of Vicky Mazoua Megni Tchio about Cameroonian learners of Italian. The article concludes by proposing educational material that should stimulate students to a conscious use of the interlingual influence to solve the introduced exercises.
