description | The reading of some stories by Ana María Shua allows us to analyze how terror is constructed from the relationship between monsters and affections. Precisely fear arises in these texts within the family where a question emerges about the nature of the bond between mothers and children. Among children turned into monsters and the oppression of social mandates on the mother, the stories install questions that subvert established orders and denaturalize social roles. Thus, the texts are presented as spaces of strangeness from which the foreseeable ways of affective relationships are questioned and new ways of understanding the links are enabled. |
