description Hallux valgus deformity is a common pedal pathology treated by foot and ankle surgeons. Greater than 100 surgical procedures have been described for deformity correction, and so it is not surprising that surgeons continue to search for a superior technique. Over the last decade minimally invasive hallux valgus correction has been gaining popularity in both the Orthopedic and Podiatry sub-specialty arenas. The purpose of this article is to review the Percutaneous Chevron Akin (PECA) surgical technique, including the most up-to-date associated technologies. Additionally, authors review preoperative and postoperative considerations associated with the procedure supported through figures and a step-by-step video tutorial including patient case examples.
