description | The paper discusses the possibilities of modelling the distribution of harmful impurities emitted into the atmosphere by industrial enterprises in conditions of fog and low clouds. With several sources located along a certain line or dispersed over an area, under conditions of elevated temperature inversion, which is often observed in fogs, additional reasons for increasing pollution of the surface air layer may appear. Under such conditions, calculations show that the distance at which the maximum concentration is observed increases substantially, and the concentration decreases very slowly with the distance after its maximum. As a result, the effect of the mutual overlapping of concentration fields from individual sources increases and more uniform pollution than in convective conditions is created in the industrial area. At the same time, even if the concentration from a separate source is relatively small, the total pollution can be very significant. |
