| description | Relevance of the research: The origins of current crisis state in Russian society should be sought in watershed events of the 1950s, when the environment for the collapse of the Communist faith and loss of previous orientation consciousness occurred. The main aim of the research is to study the ideological and psychological state of Russian society in the period of political transformation. The methods used in the research: Interdisciplinary synthesis based on the study achievements of the modern history, sociology and social psychology; method of psychological analysis of individual statements in historical sources; empirical methods of questioning, interview with participants and witnesses of the events described. The results: The author has developed the concept of ideological and psychological crisis of mass consciousness influenced by Stalin's death and condemnation of cult of his personality at the XX Congress of the CPSU. There was stable communication between society and authority in Stalin era, based on faith in the party and the charismatic leader. Under the influence of the political events of the 1950s the majority of people experienced psychological shock that resulted in formation of new critical view of Soviet reality, loss of faith in higher rectitude, split of the society and refocus on consumer values. |
