Description
Summary:Antidepressants, frequently prescribed in depression and anxiety disorders, are known to be responsible for an increase in bleeding. Yet, it has rarely been reported that SSRI treatment has unfavorable effects on hemostasis. The most frequently reported side effects of SSRIs on the hematologic system are prolonged bleeding time, impaired thrombocyte aggregation and activity. Here we present a case in whom ecchymotic lesions occurred with esscitalopram and fluoxetine, which disappeared with reboxetine. [Cukurova Med J 2015; 40(Suppl 1): 90-93]
