Contributions to the consolidation of a regional process for the conservation of coral reefs: trials for the standardization of methodologies for the repopulation of endangered species of the genus <em>Acropora<em> in three National Parks in Caribbean Colombia

description A relatively high percentage of Colombia's coral reefs are in protected areas, but despite the administrative form of protection, overall condition is not ideal. Consequently, the possibility of restoration actions is currently a developing trend that attracts researchers and the general public. For its part, the National Parks of Colombia in fulfilling its mission, integrates management of the issue of restoration to the Park conservation processes of Tayrona, Corales del Rosario and Old Providence protected areas. As part of strategies to improve the status of coral reefs, repopulation assays are performed by using coral nurseries proposed by national and international researchers, in order to evaluate its viability as a management strategy method. Below we present advances in all three protected areas, and an analysis of how to take the process to be sustainable in the long term.
