| description | Objective: Analysis over the humanized process of birth and it’s vicissitudes that approach both physiological and psychosocial aspects and also the technochratic specifications of it’s operation. Data source: The following databases were used: CAPES, Lilacs, PubMed and Scielo with the temporal netting from 2003 to 2015. Data synthesis and Conclusions: Within the ascertained literature, it is highlighted that the main benefits found were the importance of a companion during labor, the abandonment of unnecessary procedures, the protagonism of the woman and the incentive of breastfeeding. On the other hand, the barriers and contradictions involved, such as the difficulty of acceptance and adhesion by health professionals, the frustration of mothers on behalf of an erroneous concept of painless labor, the possible perinatal complications associated to homebirth without a proper screening, lack of autonomy by the women, among others were examined. By technocratical point of view, were evaluated the political and economical perspectives
of the operation of the humanized birthcare, rescuing it’s historical origin and the incompleteness of it’s implantation. Covered by this concept are the limitations of specialized workforce, lack of
physical structuring able to house all the peculiarities of humanized care, the culturality that allows the predominance of the role model that idealizes the doctor and his interventions. Therefore, the study concludes that humanized birthcare is broad policy whose guidelines look to improve the mother’s experience throughout the pregnancy and puerperal process, however encountering many barriers for it’s implementation by various social, economical, political and cultural aspects. |
