Description
Summary:Due to the increasing digitalisation, the availability of high-quality data is gaining importance. However, the correct transfer of high-quality data across the entire supply chain is still a major problem. Studies show that by crossing system borders with neutral data formats, information is often distorted or even lost. An existing method, starting with setting up the requirements and carrying out compatibility tests, is refined and extended by an error weighting and used to analyse the problem and then determine the causes. On this basis, solution strategies can then be developed. As a promising solution to the normalization of STEP files turns out. This procedure is presented in more detail in this paper and examined by means of examples. Finally, the potential of this approach is evaluated and summarised.
