| description | This contribution tries to respond to the issue of the official name of municipalities. We have chosen to work on the Aïn base and its characterizers in order to identify the semantic categories to which they belong, through the languages implemented in their constitution and the grammatical categories of these constituents. The distinction between toponyms made up of the same components was at the heart of our analysis to know by what processes this is achieved. A number of six processes were used to distinguish toponyms having the same character. We therefore have the lengthening, the addition of a defined determinant, the use of different linguistic varieties, the graphic variation, the use of different grammatical categories concerning words of the same family and finally paronymy. |
