Summary: | The Musée national de l’ Éducation in Rouen preserves approximately 950,000 items, of which a significant part concerns the history of lycées, France’s high schools. As an history museum and a social museum as well, it also takes interest in contemporary practices, especially in terms of pedagogy. For that purpose, it collects tangible testimonies of present-day practices. This article provides three examples of collections, more or less complete, regarding school-based interventions (“interventions en milieu scolaire” IMS), high school student councils (“conseils de vie lycéenne” CVL) and supervised personal work (“Travaux personnels encadrés” TPE). It outlines the specific problems related to collecting the contemporary in school setting, particularly in high schools.
