Summary:One of the key impacts of roads on the environment is their influence on soil-water conditions. Through accurate identification of initial state of the environment, analysis of the scale and range of impacts and selection of appropriate solutions to protect the environment the road project can be successfully achieved in accordance with the principle of sustainable development. This is particularly important in the context of achieving environmental objectives and good status of surface and ground water bodies as set out in the Water Framework Directive and polish Water Law act.
