Este artículo constituye una revisión histórica del impacto que ha tenido la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) en el desarrollo de la Educación Matemática en la República Dominicana y en Latinoamérica. Luego de la introducción, el texto se estructura según los aportes de la Institución en: educación superior, evaluación de los aprendizajes, formación de postgrado y publicaciones. Se finaliza con las iniciativas de más reciente implementación y con un resumen de las diferentes áreas de la Educación Matemática en que estos aportes se han llevado a cabo.
Abstract
This article presents a historical review of the impact that Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) has had in the development of the Teaching of Mathematics in the Dominican Republic and Latin America. After the introduction, the article is divided according to the contributions of our Institution as follows: higher education, learning assessment, graduate studies and publications. It ends with the most newly-implemented initiatives and with a summary of the different areas of the Teaching of Mathematics in which these contributions have been made.
