description Agar (1955) of Albert Memmi put on stage a young couple : a Tunisian Jewish and his wife, Marie, a catholic Frenchwoman. This novel illustrates different variations of the figure of «abroad». «Selected» statute o «undergone», at some point, the protagonists are «immigrants» and they will try to sustain their love despite a lot of diffe¬rences. However, it is carried out towards inescapable conflicts leading them to be inserted in the deepest of the loneliness. We will seek to show how the communication is in the center of the problems of the book and constitutes the missing part for a happy cohabitation.
