| description | Beginning beyond Start. Husserl and the Early Avant-Garde on the Primitive and Originary - Following their obsessive desire to bring about different, renewed ways of seeing things, Husserl and the early avant-garde artists tried hard to build open lines of communication with the genuine, “primitive”, authentic. By doing so, artists discovered new inspiration patterns in objects and artefacts, the origins and constitutes of which are completely foreign to the modern civilization. On the other hand, the founder of phenomenology promoted the idea that every philosopher should become an “absolute beginner” in order to successfully accomplish the search for “things themselves”. Both movements, in philosophy as well as in the arts, more than ever expressed an interest in the role and importance of phantasy. The author concludes that the common goal of the avant-garde and phenomenological strategy was above all to constitute a unique poetics of present time as the basis for the creation of new ethics and new politics. |
