This work concerned over three hundred paintings of Portuguese and foreign origin, dated from 15th to 19th centuries and belonging mostly to the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga. Luciano Freire's report gives valuable information about the material history of the paintings treated by him and contributes for a better insight into the conception and procedure methodologies that were carried out during the restoration of old master paintings in the early 20th century. |
