Description
Summary:Aviation activities in the Caribbean islands are ancient and remain intense. As an important means for openness and economic development, including tourism, airports have become essential attributes of major cities and pivotal elements of urban spaces. They contribute to enhancing the image of territories which they serve and participate in the spatial recompositions within the Caribbean cities. This work aims at questioning, using different scales of analysis, the interactions between these infrastructures and the urban world, within a more liberal and selective international context. It provides a new reading tool in order to show the diversity of Caribbean cities and islands faced with the rapid growth in air transport and urbanization.
