description The aim of this study was to determine the mediating role of fear of self in the relationship between ethical sensitivity with obsessive-compulsive symptoms and sleep problems in students. The research method was correlational (structural equations) and the statistical population of the study was all students of Semnan University in the academic year 2019-2020. Using the available sampling method, 400 students participated in the research through on the university social network. The instruments used include the Obsessive–compulsive Disorder- revision, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Ethical Sensitivity Scale and Fear of self questionnaire. Structural equation method were used to evaluate the proposed model. Findings showed that ethical sensitivity had a direct relationship with symptoms of obsessive-compulsive and sleep problems and fear of self had a mediating role in the relationship between ethical sensitivity and symptoms of obsesive-compulsive and sleep problems and the model had a good fit. Ethical sensitivity is associated with sleep problems and symptoms of obsessive-compulsive when fear of self had high. It is suggested that in treating sleep problems and reducing the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive , the role of fear of self and ethical sensitivity should also be considered.
