Summary:As a reslut of the rapid growth of information technology development, libraries deploy automation systems to improve their services. In the past few years, the grovernment spent 360 million NT dollars on public library automation systems. How did it work? Was it worth while? In what directions are library automation system heading? This paper will discuss the above questions and issues. First, it reviews the automation systems of the public libraries. Then, through data analysis, the authors propose suggestions for the public library automation systems in the near future. (Article content in Chinese with English abstract)
