continent. During the 20th century and even in the 21st one, State leaders have significantly
modified the trade policies and their economic relations, both regionally and globally. In a
world where international relations are, conditioned and oriented to trade relations, it is
believed essential to understand how the countries of Latin America have inserted into
chains of value throughout the globe. This paper seeks to investigate the economic measures
taken by some States –as members of regional blocs– to extend, strengthen and enrich their
economic relations with other countries and blocks and –from this perspective– explore how
those decisions benefited the integration process. |
