Summary:This research deals with an efficient approach to achieve energy efficiency optimization solutions with emphasis on the thermal role of atrium in commercial centers in the central part of Tehran and based on simulation. These studies, which are performed with high computational accuracy and dynamic modeling with design builder software, show that the potential for increasing productivity and energy savings in these buildings is very high. One of the main features of this doctoral dissertation is the use of 9 simultaneous variables and the application of a combination of architectural techniques and intelligent technologies in the building based on computer simulation. The research method in this research, according to its nature, is simulation with a case study and analytical approach and in terms of application type. In this research, first, the basic model is validated according to the consumption bills of the desired business center. It is then analyzed by comparing 11 different phases in the software. After applying energy efficiency and building intelligence solutions, it is found that the central atrium in short-level (3 floors), medium-level (5 floors) and then high-rise (13 floors) commercial centers, respectively, better efficiency than the base model without Apply solutions and remove the side walls in these atria, improve natural ventilation in the building
