| Summary: | Within the framework of the interdisciplinary research program dedicated to the paintings of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe’s nave, the team of the Centre d’Études Supérieures de Civilisation Médiévale of Poitiers has realized many stratigraphic drawings. Thanks to those drawings, it’s possible to document and visualize the project’s modifications, the more recent layers and the different stages of the painting process. The study of the Sacrifice of Noah demonstrates the invaluable contributions of this type of drawing in the stylistic and iconographic study of Romanesque paintings. |
