description Detailed echocardiographic study of 85 patients with various forms of syphilis (secondary, of skin and mucous membranes, early occult and seroresistant) has revealed disorders of left ventricle diastolic function in 93. 4 %. They manifested as accelerated transmitral blood flow in early diastole and a tendency to its decrease during atrial systole, decreased systolic and increased diastolic antegrade flows in pulmonary veins. Disorders of heart diastolic function were combined with evidence of increased left ventricle end diastolic pressure.
