Summary: | Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the prime cause of death in the young and has been an area of concern to the health care provider since many years. The incidence seems to be on the increase with rapid modernization and violence. A vast amount of finances are spent on the social and medical management of people with such injuries, with no appreciable outcome changes since many years. Medical research in the recent times has shown that probable adequate oxygen therapy either in the form of normobaric hyperoxia or hyperbaric oxygen could be a promising therapy in the management of this challenging problem in addition to the guidelines of therapy already established. |
