description | This article is an attempt in the domain of applied theoretical semiotics, and more precisely, it proposes a theoretical model for the semiotic analysis of the contemporary French song. This approach converges with the current theoretical concerns of semiotics, among which in particular the study of the sensitive dimension of discourses, or the study of the practices in which these discourses are involved. The song is here approached through ordinary listening practice, distinguishing inattentive and iterative listening as well as its perception as audible sound and as a musical whole. The theoretical foundations are built at the junction of two main theoretical proposals: that of P. Schaeffer, concerning the perceptive activity of listening, and that of J. Geninasca, concerning the interpretation of aesthetic discourses. The semiotic implications establishing the object as a meaning object are then examined. |
