Summary:<strong>Foundation:</strong> currently infectious dermatitis continues to be a public health problem worldwide. <br /><strong>Objective:</strong> to determine morbidity due to infectious dermatitis in patients treated at the Dermatology clinic of the José Luis Chaviano University Teaching Polyclinic of Cienfuegos. <br /><strong>Methods:</strong> a retrospective, cross-sectional study that included 627 patients diagnosed with infectious diseases during 2014. The variables studied were: age, sex, etiological diagnosis, clinical diagnosis and sexually transmitted infections. <br /><strong>Results:</strong> the age group of 15 to 24 years old prevailed (25.5%) with female predominance (26.0%) as well as viral diseases with 38.1%. According to their etiology, scabies was more frequent than that caused by sexually transmitted infection (70.2%), furunculosis (46.7%), tinea versicolor (33.9%) and vulgar warts (25.8%) and As a dermatitis that constitutes a sexually transmitted infection, syphilis with 50.0%. <br /><strong>Conclusions:</strong> skin infections in the area are a frequent health problem, in direct correspondence to the rest country and in the world.
