Description
Summary:The aim of the current study was to investigate the effectiveness of group therapy based on reality therapy on relationship beliefs in working married women. This study was a quasi-experimental one with pretest-posttest, followup design with control group. Ninety one female married employees of Mashhad participated in this study with sampling in access and completed Relationship Beliefs Inventory. Thirty persons with higher scores randomly allocated in experimental and control groups (each group 15 persons). Experimental group received 9 sessions of group reality therapy, each 100 minutes, Data was analyzed using MANCOVA. An improvement in experimental group was found in comparison with control group in subscales of relationship beliefs scale including: “disagreement is destructive", "mind reading is expected", "partner cannot change" and "sexual perfectionism”. Changes were steady  in a 45-day follow-up. The findings provide useful information on reality therapy and relationship beliefs and how it improves. Reality therapy can be used in marital counseling patterns for rebuilding relationship beliefs and reducing marital conflicts.
