description | Schwannoma is a peripheral nerve sheath tumor which affects the larynx rarely. This tumor is most commonly located in the head and neck region. In this article we report a patient presenting with the complaint of hoarseness of 5-6 months duration in whom a mass was detected in the interarytenoid region at indirect laryngoscopy. An excisional biopsy was performed with microsurgical technique after which the tumor was histopathologically diagnosed to be a Schwannoma. Additionally, we discuss the clinical and histopathological features and current treatment approaches of the laryngeal Schwannoma. |
