description In autonomous electric power supply systems of remote areas of the country where there are no centralized electric power supply, diesel generator units (DGU), and gas piston installations (GPI) is used as a source of electrical power. Selection of their nominal power determined load value, for which the preliminary calculation using the standard values. Researches of electric power profiles for apartment and public buildings of the Republic of Tatarstan showed a significant difference from the current regulatory values. At present, the regions are granted the right to independently set specific loads for such objects. The article proposes a method for selecting the power of autonomous power plants for actual loads for urban and rural settlements.
