description Undoubtedly, the cracks in the reinforced concrete (RC) structures represent a great danger to those structures, and it was necessary to monitor these cracks with high accuracy. In this research, an experiment was done to investigate the use of modern surveying technologies (digital close-range photogrammetry and terrestrial laser scanning) to monitor such deformations. The experiment was done in the field on a real project under construction in a water treatment plant. In this plant, some cracks were found in an existing building and studied using the same proposed modern surveying technologies along with a traditional method (Digital Vernier). The results of the modern surveying methods are compared with those obtained by the traditional methods, proving that the proposed modern methods give accurate and reliable results. One of the most important advantages of these modern methods is that these methods do not require direct contact with the monitored structure. Moreover, these methods provide a three-dimensional model to show the exact details of the reinforced concrete structure.
