Description
Summary:Invasive cervical resorption is a silent, yet aggressive resorption on the external surface of root that affects the cervical area below the epithelial attachment and above the ridge crest. Proper diagnosis and management of this condition determine the outcome of the treatment. Advancements in digital imaging modalities such as cone-beam computed tomography have enabled the clinician to diagnose and locate extent of pathological changes with great precision. Studies have reported that the use of 90% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) has got the ability to arrest the clastic activity. The commonly used materials to seal the resorptive defect are mineral trioxide aggregate and its modifications. This is a case report of surgical management of invasive cervical root resorption of mandibular canine using 90% TCA and the bioactive cement, Biodentine as restorative material to seal the defect.
