Summary: | The paper presents the results of an analysis of individual data from household budget surveys for
2012, with regard to the level and structure of consumption in rural households, represented by persons
aged 60 and older. The purpose of the study was to evaluate and to indicate the types of households
characterized by a “poorer” model of consumption, as well as the types of households of older people
characterized by a relatively “modern” model of consumption. In summary, it could be stated that in
rural households with the head of the family being 60 years old or more, a significant part of the money
is spend on the basic needs associated with food and home expenses. Moreover, households run by
older people with higher levels of education and good financial standing were characterized by relatively
positively assessed structure of consumption. |
