Summary: | This study seeks to feed the growing body of research on teacher education in computer-assisted language learning (CALL). It strives to analyse the potential of an instructional design project on the development of competencies pertaining to multimedia instructional engineering in the field of foreign language teaching. The study draws on data from reflective journals kept by a sample of ten Master's students who were engaged in a six-month design project. Analysis of the data has enabled us to study the role played by critical incidents in the problem-solving process and to identify what professional competencies can potentially be developed through such a training programme in which CALL is approached both concretely and conceptually. |
