Summary:The article presents the data concerning definition, components and the manifestations of emotional burnout syndrome in general and in medical teachers, in particular. The author has analyzed the history of the question for the last decades, evaluated the findings, systemized the main approaches to the detection and liquidation of symptoms of emotional burnout syndrome. Negative personality traits were identified both in the teacher and medical student contributing to the development of emotional burnout in the teacher. The author proposes the ways to solve this problem in higher medical school.
