Summary: | <p>This article discusses the concept of "citizenship", "civic education" in historical retrospective; the objectives and functions of general civil consciousness are pointed out. Psychological and pedagogical conditions of civic education provision for today’s students are identified- the study of students' families in order to form civic values; the conditions conducive to the involvement of parents into the educational process of school (joint planning with parents and students of educational work on civic education, the establishment and functioning of the school methodical service "Interaction"), control conditions of civic education of students (strategic, tactical, operational) conditions of formation of civic competence of an individual.</p><p><strong>DOI: <a href="http://dx.doi.org/10.12731/2218-7405-2013-6-12">http://dx.doi.org/10.12731/2218-7405-2013-6-12</a></strong></p>
