Description
Summary:Summary: The electrocatalytic behavior of carbon materials is related to the oxygen-containing groups, in that the type of groups determines the activity of carbon materials. Among them, phenanthrenequinone (PQ) moieties functionalized carbon materials are critical species in the catalysis field. Here, we prepare PQ moieties functionalized carbon materials through electrochemical oxidation. We provide the synthesis details of the PQ groups, an approach for the detection of PQ groups, and a performance evaluation for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) under acidic conditions. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Lu et al.
