description This article presents a study, applying the Transit Oriented Development paradigm, of the current mobility situation for a residential zone in Parque Rodó neighborhood, Montevideo, Uruguay. The study focuses on adequately capturing the relationships between the urban environment, activities and mobility, through the analysis of several relevant indicators. One of the main focus of the study is related to sustainable mobility, to clearly determine the capabilities the studied area offers for the development of cleaner and environmentally friendly transportation that provides a proper accessibility to citizens. Urban data analysis, surveys, and personal inspection methodologies are applied to characterize mobility demands, the use of different transportation modes, the land use, and the existence and maintaining condition of mobility infrastructure in the studied area. The main results of the study indicate that the studied area has appropriate values of relevant TOD-based indicators, and very good potential for developing sustainable mobility. Specific suggestions and recommendations are provided to improve the main weakness and defects found in the study.
