description In this paper reports on computer modeling of discharge processes in dielectric Multisim environment. The simulation was performed for partial discharges measuring circuit with a current sensor in the chain of isolation grounding. The simulation results show the dependence of the shape and amplitude of a partial discharge signal from junction type parameters and measurement circuit. An explanation is offered that reason for the polarity of the detected PD can be both positive and negative, regardless of the polarity of the power frequency voltage, is a sign of the rate of change of voltage (dU / dt) at the time of partial discharge, which may be random in nature.
