description | The article addresses the socio-cultural and institutional problems of the innovative development of the Russian economy. The author concludes that the most important obstacle to innovative development in all spheres of the social, economic and cultural life of Russia is not the lack of social innovations but its extremely high pace . Social life in Russia for centuries formed under constant transformations representing non-organic attempts at modernisation from the up side . Economic reforms in the 1990s went beyond the permissible “step novelty” and caused the simplification and archaisation of the economy and human capital, resulting in the closure and conversion of modern high-tech industries, losing the skills of the workforce . Russian markets and entrepreneurship, understood as the existing system of institutions, themselves do not motivate the innovative behaviour of the participants . Furthermore, due to the orientation toward an immediate return, the innovative activities can be blocked because it is difficult to be evaluated using formal monetary indicators. A significant part of society feels alienated from the changes taking place . In response to the alienation from social innovation comes the archaisation of social practices . It is more or less a conscious rejection of innovations in various areas of life due to its inaccessibility and the lack of an institutional environment for its development. |
