Summary:The article presents data on the incidence of post-cataract surgery inflammation, and cystoid macular edema (CME), in particular in diabetic patients. A literature review of the prevention of inflammation and CME after cataract surgery is offered. The analysis of the submitted sources implies that nowadays priorities are methods of the prevention of inflammatory complications that minimize interventions into the eye, and that can increase the efficacy of treatment.
