| description | The objective of this research is the application of a new methodology to calculate the productivity index in horizontal wells of the Northern Oil Belt of Cuba. Applying the calculation methods of Joshi and Economides, the results obtained show that most of the wells in studies are highly damaged, and their real productions far from ideal for horizontal drilling. The analysis of the supply curves at the bottom of the wells corroborates the negative influence of damage to the formation on the flow efficiency values. This parameter is indicative that in the wells studied the actual production is well below the optimal production to be horizontal wells. |
