Summary:At the present time, acid mine drainage (AMD) is considered to be one of the most frequent environmental problems associated with the mining activity. The attenuation of mining activity in Slovakia ended by an extensive flooding of deposits, whereby the suitable conditions for AMD generation mainly at the localities after the mining of sulphide ores and raw materials containing sulphides were formed. The article presents monitoring results of the mine water quality at the selected Slovak localities.
