Based on the literature, it is predicted that supervisor expediency results from high-performance goals. Furthermore, supervisor bottom-line mentality acts as a moderator between high-performance goals and supervisor expediency such that a high bottom-line mentality strengthens this relationship. The present study’s theoretical framework is grounded on a transactional model of stress and coping. Two source data (supervisor-subordinate) are collected from the private health sector of Pakistan, and the sample size is 591 supervisor-subordinate dyads. Findings support the hypotheses formulated in this study. Statistical results underline that high-performance goals lead to supervisor expediency. Moreover, results confirm the moderating effect of supervisor bottom line mentality. Implications and research directions for the future are also highlighted.
