| Summary: | Iran’s proper status in the development of science and knowledge at the international level represents the institutionalized decision making system in this sector of the country. Besides, Iran’s strategic documents always emphasize on the formation of a place for the country’s knowledge and technology. Regarding to the development of technologies and IT infrastructures, this paper focuses the technological functions of scientific information management in the research and resource management value chain and analyzes the facilitation of the research services enhancement in the country. The approach of the paper is almost qualitative. At first, we identify the scientific and technological information value chain and its stockholders, applications, requirements, based on the previous documents, and international documents including goals and strategies, plans and actions. Then, we recognize the classification, and the definition of IT based on service systems. Finally, we present the IT functionality of scientific information management and research value chain based on the stockholders as a conceptual model. |
