| Summary: | The reflection on land and territory involves many other old and new themes, often subjected to a rethink due to new archaeological discoveries or recent historical models. In this article I propose some general reflections on some aspects: they are historical (the landscape), social (the aristocracies), economic (land management), cultural (the relationship with the natives), politics (the foundation of the greek cities and its internal hierarchies). They are all related and thus they define a concrete dimension to contextualize many aspects of the recent theoretical debate on Greek colonization. |
