description | Drawing on work on the subject of temporary work, this article proposes to highlight the multiplicity of forms of expression of ordinary racism in the workplace. From a perspective close to that of sound studies, the aim here is to grasp and understand the social issues that take on meaning and substance in the sound expressions of racism, between blatant and veiled forms, direct and insulting discourse, underhand jokes and allusions. Emphasis will be placed in particular on low masses, whispers, muffled noises or silences, which can, in particular work environments, draw the contours of floating forms of racism. |
