On the eutectic transition of undercooled hypoeutectic Ni-B alloy in the differing heat extraction process
In this study, a uniform anomalous eutectic is formed in a slow cooling process of undercooled hypoeutectic Ni-B alloy. The longer the cooling time, the higher the hardness of the Ni3B phase. This is a result of higher concentration of boron being arrested by the Ni3B phase.
