description The examples of electromagnetic absorbers produced from powdered natural materials, water, Ni-Zn ferrite and calcium chloride are given. The effect of the ratio of components in the absorbers on the resulting electromagnetic attenuation and reflection characteristics are studied through the analysis of experimentally obtained frequency dependence of the transmission and reflection in the frequency range of 8 ... 12 GHz. The authors give the recommendations on the formation of electromagnetic absorbers for various applications including the creation of the shielded room to handle the protected information and testing of electronic equipment.
