The author proposes that the twentieth-century Pentecostal revival created a unique interpretive matrix from which emerged fresh interpretive strategies. Pentecostals inherited the methods of the nineteenth-century holiness movement, but they added to those methods a new approach that took into account the experience of Holy Spirit baptism, which resulted in a unique combination of hermeneutical
